Fabrizio Romano shares why Chelsea have not announced the signing of Romelu Lukaku yet

Fabrizio Romano shared on his Twitter the reason why Chelsea have yet to properly announce the return of Romelu Lukaku

Romano explained that Lukaku is still in Monaco with his agents, whilst the Blues and Inter Milan finalise the paperwork.

The transfer guru reassured Chelsea fans that there is nothing to worry about; they will get their striker soon.

All that really matters to the Stamford Bridge faithful is that they get to witness the Belgian international live this Saturday against Crystal Palace.

It will be a monumental moment for the Premier League, and more specifically, Lukaku.

He joined Chelsea a decade ago, only to leave three years later to sign for Everton.

His time with the Toffees was well spent, setting him up for a mega-money move to Manchester United.

That stint at Old Trafford did not go to plan, and saw the 28-year-old have to move abroad to find a new home in Italy.

At Inter, he reclaimed his status as one of the world’s finest no.9s, a legacy Chelsea wanted a slice of again.

Lukaku will now rejoin his former employers for a club-record transfer fee of £97.5m (Sky Sports).

There was a slim chance he could have made his second debut this evening in the Super Cup final, but the deadline has now passed for the registration.

Not to worry, the centre-forward will be wearing blue once more, just a little more patience is needed.
